The OPRF boys basketball team appeared more than pleased to be back on their home court Friday night as the Huskies, coming off a 1-2 finish at the Pontiac Holiday Tournament, trounced Proviso West 72-54 on Friday night at the field house in Oak Park. The victory pushed OPRF’s West Suburban (Silver) Conference win-streak to four games.
As the OPRF boys basketball team prepared for the critical second half of the season, we caught up with head coach Matt Maloney and asked him a few questions about the team’s development. The Huskies, who made it out of the tough Pontiac Holiday Tournament with a 1-2 finish, will try to keep their West Suburban (Silver) Conference win-streak alive against Proviso West this Friday (7:30 p.m.). OPRF goes into the match-up 9-3 overall and 3-0 in the Silver Division.

With teams such as No. 1-ranked Simeon and fifth-ranked Warren, among others, finding any breathing room at the Pontiac Holiday Tournament may be a difficult task for the OPRF boys basketball team. But a lengthy stay in Pontiac surely isn't out of the question.
